Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors: Are They Worth It?

Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors

If you’re an avid golf player, you’ll know how hard it is to keep track of one’s progress. Once your club touches the golf ball, it’s pretty challenging to see where it ends up and how well you hit. To improve your game, it’s essential to keep track of all your shots, and we found a great way to do so – the Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors.

The Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors are an excellent investment for any golf player. These sensors attach to your clubs and track your golf shots as you play. The sensors send all the recorded data onto an application that you can access from your smartphone at any time.

Before we dive into a detailed review of these sensors, here’s how we’d score the product on a few different factors:

Overall Rating97/100
Ease of Use98/100
Ease of Assembly98/100
Affordability80/100
Average Life Span93/100

What Are The Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors?

In simple words, these sensors record data on all the shots you make and send it to the application on your phone. To do this, all you have to do is attach the sensors to the top of your clubs and connect it to the app.

The sensors are quite small; each is only 0.75 inches tall. So, you can easily carry them around in your golf bag and install them onto any type of golf club.

Then, thanks to Arcoss’s AI powered GPS rangefinder, it tracks your performance and sends the data to your app. One packet of sensors gives you one sensor per golf club and one for your putter.

The Arccos Caddie App

All the data from the sensors goes onto the Arccos Caddie app, which is extremely easy to use. The bar at the bottom has four main tabs that you should know about: player, clubs, activity, start round.

The player tab gives you statistics on driving (How to Hit a Driver Straight and Far), approach, chipping (Best Gap Wedges for Backspin), sand, and putting (Best Putter for Bad Putters). The clubs tab shows you all the clubs you’ve added and a “smart estimation” on how far you’ve been hitting with each club. You can dive into more specific statistics for each club too.

The activity tab is where you can check your history of play. You can see your old scores, statistics, and breakdowns of previous games. You’ll also be able to check your best scores here. The last tab, start round, is what you click when you’re about to start playing.

The Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors: Features We Liked

This product has a large variety of features to offer. When we tried these sensors out, here are some of the ones we liked the most.

It Records All The Data You Need

These sensors record a large amount of data that can help you improve your performance. They keep track of how far you hit a shot and give recommendations on which club to use for the next shot.

That’s not all. These sensors also show you the average lengths of your clubs, what holes you commonly miss, and your average number of putts per hole. Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors also account for the effect of the wind, slope, temperature, and other factors on your performance. Having this data can help you see where you need to improve your game.

It Acts Like A GPS Tracker

This product also acts as a GPS. You can see how far you are from the greens and any potential hazards on the course on the app. You can also use satellite imagery to see what a hole looks like before making your shot. This will help you better plan out how to play the hole.

It’s Easy To Use

The Arccos Caddie sensors are made to ease your game – and your life – in all ways possible. Hence, they’re easy to set up, and the application has an easy-to-use interface. When you get them the instructional book takes you step by step on how to install them, connect them and start using them. No confusion and no fluff, which I appreciated.

We’ve already talked about how simple the setup process is. Honestly, it only took us 10 minutes to get the sensors attached and working. After securing the sensors, we had to download the app, set it up, and input the type of clubs we had. Keep in mind that this process can take 10 to 20 additional minutes.

You’ll have to point your phone towards each club so the app can acknowledge it and record the data subsequently. Once you download the app, you’ll see that accessing the recorded data is pretty easy too. The app also gives you the option to choose which data you want to see. So, you can choose to ignore irrelevant data, ensuring your app remains uncluttered.

It Records Extremely Accurate Data

Our favorite aspect of this device is that the data it records is pretty accurate. In fact, it may be the most accurate out of all the GPS devices we’ve used.

All data on driver lengths, speed, and angles of hits were more accurate than we expected. Of course, these sensors can’t provide 100% accuracy, but they’re pretty close.

These sensors record the last swing you take at a given location. So, you can take as many practice swings as you want without worrying about messing up your data.

Based on the data collected, the Caddie app also recommends optimal strategies for playing the remaining round. It will also attempt to predict how many strokes it’ll take you to hole out.

It’s Compatible With Most Devices

To use these smart sensors, you must be able to download the free Arccos Caddie app. This app is compatible with most Android and iOS devices.

Arccos has also recently introduced compatibility with the Apple Watch. By syncing with your watch, you’ll be able to see most data by checking your wrist. This is great because it means we don’t need to take our phones out of our pockets after every hit.

Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors’ ability to sync with your Apple Watch also means you don’t need to keep your phone in your pocket at all! The shot tracker feature on the watch means you can leave your phone in your bag or in the locker too.

It’s Long-Lasting

These smart sensors are built to last for at least 5 years, so it’s an excellent investment to make. The batteries are also guaranteed for 2 years. So, if they run out before 2 years are over, you can get them replaced at no additional cost.

Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors: Features We Didn’t Like

No electronic device can ever be perfect, and the Arccos Caddie Smart Sensors are no exception. Here are some things about the product that we didn’t like.

The Cost

These sensors come with many great features, so you shouldn’t expect them to be cheap. While the sensors themselves are a bit pricey, they’re definitely good value for money.

However, to access the application’s full features, you need to pay an annual fee of $99. This is a bit steep considering the initial price of the product. Just like most things in life, how much are you willing to invest in your golf game. If you’re looking to lower scores and decrease your handicap, then it’s a wise investment. If you’re simply playing golf just to be outside, the investment might not fit your desire.

They Don’t Always Fit The Club Well

These smart sensors are great, but sometimes the sensors can unscrew when you’re moving them in and out of the carrier bag. They can also sometimes fall out if they’ve been attached for a while, so you’ll have to be really careful not to lose a sensor. If you do decide to invest in these, you want to keep an eye on your investment, by maintaining your equipment. This is especially true for Arccos Smart Sensors.

If you want to improve your golf skills but don’t feel like taking external help, investing in these sensors is a good idea. These Caddie sensors are a great help when you want to figure out your weak points in the game.

Above all, using these sensors can get you a personalized report on how you’re playing and where you’re messing up. For us, that alone was quite a solid reason to make a purchase.

Of course, these sensors have their problems. For us, the biggest problem was the slight glitches that would happen occasionally. However, they weren’t significant enough to distract us from our game or be a hindrance of any sort.
